need a new ball
« on: April 19, 2019, 02:36:30 PM »
I currently throw a 14lb Hammer amp Up. Due to injury I am only throw 11 to 12 mph. What ball is out there that would give me length due to my slow ball speed and have a strong continuous motion on the back end? Just to modify my post. Asymmetrical cores have worked best for me. And I'm not much of a fan of Global.

Isn't that a dry lanes ball?

It's a damn good ball, and at a low price. They come in different flavors, solid, hybrid, pearl. I have a Cardinal Red Boost and love it. It has a tall core so it moves good in the back. I have a lot of surface on mine with thick polish and it's still pretty sticky.

It's not a dry lane ball, but more of a medium/low oil volume ball.
Might want to look at a 900 Global Drift. Like a Hyroad but stronger core

Drift is discontinued, closest thing would be a White Hot, but with slow speed, a Boost will actually save energy for his slower speed.

I just modified my post. Not a real fan of Global and an asymmetrical  core has worked best for me in the past

Not trying to play staffer, but what are you basing your dislike on? We have some terrific equipment and there's something for everyone.

That's fair I suppose. More 900 Global for the rest of us. Have fun in your experiments.

That's fair, but you're missing out. If you like assyms, then you should look at a Honey Badger. Not staffer talk, just real love.

The few 900G that I have seen have been a little hit and miss. A teammate that bowls in every regional tournament in a four hour drive and other weekend tournaments keeps pulling out his honey badger only to put it away a few frames later. I've seen a white hot do well for a while but then poorly. This is all on Sport conditions so it isn't really any worse than the struggles others have had and I think there are other better options to use with surface. I have always wanted to try the Break core but haven't to this point.

To be fair, I don't think fast response balls on a sport shot is an accurate vision of our product line. I would be bringing an After Dark, Claw with surface and Black Ops with surface pin down if I thought I was going to be on a grind.

Using the wrong ball isn't the company's fault, it's the miseducation of the bowler on what they should use the ball on.

how about a kinetic emerald. they get good length with polish and with the right layout can be strong on the back end.
