need advice
« on: October 19, 2007, 04:47:45 PM »
I started bowling in a new league which I posted about before. It is a walled shot for me. I believe I can average around 220. Now I could be wrong, just how I felt on it for the first time as I had a ton of room to strike.

Here is the problem: The guy who asked me to bowl wants me not to average higher than around 205. This is really bothering me. I want to bowl to the best of my ability and not only that he is the kind that wants to always have the highest average. He even tells his son to sandbag in the other league he bowls in. How should I handle the situation?

I know I want to average as high as I can. Being a perfectionist I have set a goal of 230, which may be high but I think if I stay focused and repeat shots I can do it. I would rather set a harder goal to reach because it will force me not to get content with where I am because I always want to get better.

I plan on bowling up to my ability. I really want to average higher than him bc I partially think that is what he doesn't want. I just am worried about that point when he tells me to throw an easy spare away. I just don't need someone to tell me what to do especially when it isn't the right thing to do. I perfer fair competition over sandbagging any day.

If you could get another person as a witness to his actions/attitude I'd report his bagging arse...

Find a new team, kick their butt in league and get the high average award.

I would not bowl with them.  People with this type of attitude are not secret within associations.  And often its just a matter of time, gaining evidence before they could be Nationally rerated.  When and if that happens, you don't want to be known as a participant in their click.  BEcause even if you average 230, you will be known by the company you keep.
