Title: Need help...new bowler
Post by: gims on February 18, 2019, 07:53:03 PM
I really struggled with bowling today.

I had at least 6 frames where I kept leaving the 1-2-4 pins on my first ball.  Please provide suggestions.

Thanks,
Rookie

Ball too high in the pocket - too much speed, lack of roll, poor release (ball not behind the ball). Many potential sources, including a ball that is too weak for the condotion at hand (including a layout that makes the ball to go too long and not finish). Could also be some oil in the back part of the lane (making the ball slip beyond its breakpoint), but I'd rather assume an operator error.

First and foremost, the ball isn't hitting the pocket. Otherwise, the headpin wouldn't be there.

LOL! besides this...are you left-handed or right-handed? Speed? What condition you playing on? What are you using currently?

 ;D

If he/she is leaving a 1,2,8, it would almost have to be a right hand bowler. Not that it make a difference, if the head pin is still standing, it's a "missed the pocket completely" issue.

The author needs to learn to throw the ball constantly to a target(or at least NEAR a target), nothing else matters until that happens.

Wow!  A dizzy sighting!

Practice, practice, practice, and a visit to the PSO @ the lanes bowling at. Throw in a lesson or two too. Good luck and keep us abreast of your happening on the lanes. :P
