I got a TF, pretty much the #3 layout, with pin above middle finger, about 5 3/4 away, mb about 1 1/2" right of thumb oob. I wasn't crazy about this drilling, w/the negative pin, but it was suggested I try and if I didn't like it I could get another one. Well, it's going a little too long for me, and that's w/me being a 15 mph thrower rev dominant. I guess I throw in a little heavier THS, synthetic. I'm thinking of turning this one in, and getting another one, mb in same position, but pin maybe above the ring finger instead, about 1 1/2" closer to the pin, about 4 1/2 or 4 1/4" away. I'm hoping it will still retain it's lenght due to its higher rg, yet the close pin will prevent it from sliding past the breakpoint, as my TF does sometimes. Any thoughts?

If it's too long, try bringing down the surface to 2000 or 4000.

I copied the following from the Brunswick description sheet on the Twisted Fury
If your Twisted Fury goes too long: Dull the surface with 800-grit or rougher abrasive to get the Twisted Fury to roll sooner and increase its hooking action.

cuz it was recommended by the shop, and if i didn't like it, they'd get me a new one no charge. I'm not crazy about surface adjustments on this ball, rather get a new ball.
I had planned on getting a label drill on this ball, but it might be too weak of a drilling, even w/the pin in the closer position not sure about the mb in the track area. So I've guessed keeping the mb right of thumb, but moving the pin a litter closer to my pap, not too high above the fingers either. Any insights or experience?

Don't discount surface adjustments on any bowling ball until you've tried them. They can make a huge, huge difference in ball reaction of course, and I've had balls I hated at their box finish, but loved with a different surface. For example, my Total NV was way too long and jumpy for me out of the box, so I sanded it with a worn 1000 pad and put a little polish on it. It was much, much better (well, until my center started putting down more oil. I haven't even had reason to get that ball out of the bag for more than a game the past month or two!)

So taking it to 2000 is worth a try? Sometimes the ball is great, but it does skid past the breakpoint at my house. So maybe the duller surface will help grab a little sooner, yet the drilling will allow it to still get length?

lol dude
around 75% or more of the ball reaction is due to surface, layout only fine tunes the reactions..

I just saw the vid of this ball on their web site, and it mention to move the layout 1/2" closer, meaning if you choose a 5 1/2", then make it a 5"
You had mentioned 5 3/4"....was 6 1/4" the first plan of attack?
For those who saw this video, please explain why they suggestion this change to 1/2" closer........Thanks TheGom

^^^^^^^^^^^
The differential on the Twisted is lower than on other high performance balls which means less flare potential. the 1/2" closer increases flare potential just a bit.
