New ball for fall league
« on: August 21, 2007, 06:55:04 AM »
I'm gonna leave work early today to get a new ball punched.

Here are some options. Local pro-shop is running a sale.

Storm Paradigm Domination
Storm Spitfire
Hammer Raw Pain
Ebonite Total NV
Ebonite Infinite One

Right now I'm leaning toward the Total.

Any opinions?

i throw some of everything. i have thrown the total and was not impressed at all to be honest. like i said i throw some of everthing and the one ball i wish i could use more is my storm agent. i really need to get the cover tweeked cuz its just too strong. i always score good with it when i can use it. if it was me i would go with the domination. i dont think u can go wrong with it.

# of bowling balls = too many
highest game = not high enough
league avg. = its getting there
tournaments won = let me get back to u on this one

Well, the Pain is a great ball that you might not see for much longer since it's disco'd.  Might want to give that a shot, otherwise I'd lean towards the Total NV as well.  Too many people love that ball to pass it up!

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

It is going to depend on who you ask, but I had a Domination and that ball was horrible.  Worst reaction on any condition I used it on I've ever gotten.  Just an FYI.  Sad because I saw other people throw it and it did exactly what I was hoping mine would do..

I've never owned a Storm ball before so it's hard for me to buy one but the Domination is tempting.

Narrow it to the Pain and TNV. Considering your current arsenal, I'd say the TNV because it's radically different. The closest you have to modern is the Blade.

I'd have to say the NV. Knowing nothing about your game, i think more people overall love that ball than any other. there's something to popularity. seems very versatile, can be used on a wide variety of conditions with quick surface changes. great hit and carry, that's for sure. anyway, just my two cents.

I am a little in the stone age with my current arsenal and I'm really looking forward to something new. Although I did shoot a 767 with my Sapphire Zone last year.

Bowling is more about skill than anything else, but since you're getting a new ball, go with something dynamic and drastically different than your current stuff and have fun with it.

I ended up going with the Total NV and let me tell you. It's a monster. Like nothing in my current lineup. I haven't thrown a hook like this since I picked up my Sapphire Zone.

Also after letting my arm rest up this summer I'm back to my old form again. No pain in my elbow at all.

I don't know what type of reaction you're looking for but I've got a TNV & I like it pretty well. I think it's lightening in a bottle on medium lanes, it's pretty good on med. heavy but I can't get mine to turn on heavy, plus it's way too strong for anything less than medium. I had mine drilled with the #3 layout (if I remember right) & it has a very controlable hook to it & it hits pretty hard. It doesn't have a big hook to it if that's what your looking for.

I'm right handed, have an above average rev rate & try to throw the ball around 14-15mph.

The other thing I like about the TNV is it's purdy. "Cue deliverance music"

Spit Fire.  It will be a ball that you can play with on almost any condition.

Wish I had seen this before.  I would have recommended going with the NVS.  I have the TNV and love it but just got an NVS and fell in love the first time I threw it shot 697 with 21 in a row with it after a 183 game in game 1.  NVS is stronger through the pin deck then the TNV.
