new ball like ebonite black ice
« on: December 06, 2008, 08:44:58 AM »
I've had my ebonite black ice for a little more than a year and up until about a month or two ago, it was great, multiple 300s & 800s but now it seems to have lost a lot of power. I'm looking into getting a new ball equal to what the black ice did. Any suggestions? I know the clash and bash are close but any other brands that are about the same?
Better Lucky than good.

It's very possibly, given the number of games you imply, that it is simply oil soaked. Find a pro shop with a Revivor over or even a Rejuvenator over and try to remove some of that oil. ASk the shop how much oil came out, just to be sure.

Even though the original Yellow/Purple pearl Bash has the same core as the Black Ice. I believe the newer Bash, called the Red/Black, because of its color, might have a ball reaction closer to the Black Ice because of its very low flaring core and because of the mild, polished solid coverstock. The core is different from the original Bash and from your Black Ice.

(The RG DIff numbers on this Ebonite web page are wrong as far as I know. RG Diff is around .02, not .031.)
