Bohn at my house!
« on: August 06, 2007, 10:51:01 AM »
Parker Bohn III came to my alley tonight.  He subbed for Doug Kent who couldn't make it on account of a back injury.  He talked for about a half-hour, asking questions.  It was very informative, and definitely worth the 5-minute drive!

I had meet Parker numerous times and he is a very nice person. He was willing to talk about anything that you wanted to discuss, even if that was not bowling.

HE wasn't asking.  Basically he stepped up, said a few things; "My name is Parker Bohn, I..." and that whole jumble.  After than, anyone waiting to start their league play could ask various questions about bowling, timing, conditioning, stretching, "what happens if..." or anything else that they wanted Parker to answer.  He gave some really detailed answers and you could really get a lot from him.  It makes you think about how much MORE he must know that we do about the sport.

Parker will be coming to Topeka, KS with other PBA pros (Sean Rash, Mika, Brad Angelo, Chris Barnes, etc.) for Brunswicks first Pro Staff Training Camp the last week of August.  I can see if somebody can put a flier or some info up here for anybody interested. I actually get to bowl against him in a special pro-am exhibition match.  5 pros vs the 5 best in our city, one game on a house shot, one on the US Open pattern, and one game of an obstacle course.  Rick Benoit came up with some great training tools, little bumpers with suction cups on the bottom that you put out on the lane.  There's also a pro am at the end of that week that you can sign up for.  The pros will be there and bowling all week long, so it would definitely be something to at least take a day off and come watch . .

Spinner,
Didn't you think he was alot bigger?  I remember seeing him at the Open last year, and was surprised at his height/weight.  A TV thing I guess....
