What are you guys getting for this new season?
1. I picked up a uproar in the spring for the fall
2. Just punched up my disturbed/deranged duo
3. Getting Zero Gravity, IQTF, Optimus, Sinister from my have-a-ball leagues.. (my best friend and my girl friend give their free ball..so I get 4 by doing two leagues...:)))
4. Ordering a new Wrecker, as mine is beat and wore out baaaad.
5. Sometime this season adding IQTS and/or Hyroad solid
Now that I have let you know that I have a problem lol..how about you?
-
I have a Motiv Ascent Apex coming to the pro shop either tomorrow or Tuesday. We're switching to short pattern next week in our summer scratch league
If I like that one a lot,I might add the Tribal Fire coming out soon
-
Just punched up a Sync Perfect and waiting for my pro shop to get their delivery of Sync Tours (one already has my name on it). Got an IQ Tour Solid coming in from a ball league I am bowling in this summer, not sure how I am going to drill it though. Punched up a new spare ball...original Columbia 300 Blue Dot. Last but not least, I picked up a Light's Out earlier in the summer for sport shots. Dang I bought more balls than I thought I did.
-
I just punched up the following foe the upcoming fall seasoon....
Rotor grip defiant
Brutal nightmare
IQ tour fusion
Rotor Grip wrecker
Rotor Grip rumble
Roto grip scream
Storm mix
I have all my conditions covered... ;D
-
Just picked up a 14 lbs Hammer Deadly Aim for long oil summer sport shot. Punched up over the weekend at 60x4"x50. It worked great on the weekend carry-down. Can't wait for sport shot.
-
black widow legend
Bill O. dominated the summer swing TV with this ball
-
I'm contemplating adding a Roto-Grip Outcry and possibly an LT-48 or something.
Also, I'm considering going with Switch-Grips OR a Vise-IT system on my strike equipment (would leave a standard slug in my plastic).
I will probably punch 1 up during the season as well at some point.
-
In the shop now:
Radical Yeti
Radical Reax V2
Rumble
When I pick up those I will drop off:
Radical Grease Monkey
DV8 Dude
I am interested to see how the radicals roll for me.
Once leagues resume - I will evaluate my needs. I like to add one more as my Christmas gift to myself.
-
I have a Sinister coming from My ball league and I've ordered the 2 ball Tribal Fire pack so far. Also will be adding an Ascent Apex and an Outcry and probably a Hysteria after I get to return to bowling after bypass surgery
-
Before fall starts I'm punching up a bunch of stuff
Motiv: sting, covert revolt, venom shock, ascent pearl, and a primal rage
C300: antics and n'sane antics
Hammer: I'm getting 6 ALF but only drilling 2
As for others I might drill up a track tour x. And still contemplating some others
-
I'll be adding a Motiv Octane and the Ascent Apex to my arsenal this year.
-
DV8 Ruckus Schizo
-
The Schizo has been amazing so far. It will be my big ball to start the fall. Have a classic zone and a yeti on standby that im looking to punch up when the season starts. Also have my Ringer Solid ready to go when leagues start back as my other go to piece.
-
That Melee cross and blue ringer look great as well.
-
Hopefully at least an Octane, maybe another Revolt too.
-
Trading in my rather tame Absolut Curve for an Absolut Flip.
Also, deciding on if I'm going to work with the Deadly Aim I have, or trade that in for a BW Legend as well. I didn't join the Gas Mask bandwagon when it started because I was having success with the Ebonite's Total NV, Complete NV, and Mission line, but now I think I may look at it now since it has a resurgence.
BL.
-
A LOT of Motiv! I might have to dabble soon and see what all of the hype is about!

I had been wanting to try it out and finally got to when a guy I bowl with gave me his Cruel LE. It's good stuff coming out of Michigan
-
Motiv has really caught my eye gonna give em a shot plus a guy I know just signed with them so it's a bonus too
-
All Ebonite brands are having issues with consistency out of their plant . . I'd personally give another company a shot.

Complete NV
That was such a great piece. 8)
-
Ebonite itself has struggled but the other 3 are still strong

where did get that "all EBI" brands are having issues?
thats a new one
some great pieces out recently
Ebonite pivot is a great ball
disorder is the replacement for a great older piece - outburst, and i think its better
the BW legend has the ball testers and pros excited im told - just look what it did at the summer swing and USBC queens
Track will have 9 new numbered balls total when this is done, supposed to be a more accurate naming/numbering system than the previous series
sales are going strong for EBI, so do tell
-
We can cross off no.4 off of my bucket list this season.
Parts 3 and 5 left!
-
the only track piece that i am looking at is the tour X
supposed to be for tougher sport patterns, we will see if i cant live without it
-
I disagree about the pivot being a great ball. Track is going through a recycle phase right now hammer is just taking their best core and trying it in a different shell (great idea but even better bringing the name back) c300 is probably my favorite of the 4 but hammer made the best ball no one talks about in the ALF
-
You are correct about the ALF, i still have 2 that are in my bag!
supposed to be a solid version on its way.
you have to drill this piece stronger than you think to get the full potential out of it.
-
Mine is pin under my middle and it's my best ball on anything but then again I do have a higher rev rate with medium speed. I'm gonna stock up on that ball
-
i drilled an all new house shot arsenal.....my third blue vibe and second freeze pearl along with my spare ball.
for sport patterns i drilled a totally defiant so i can open up my angles during transition and a black vibe for fresh. i am adding those to a IQ tour solid, nomad dagger, cobalt vibe and spare ball.
-
This isn't even a question you need to ask me...
Dream, All Night, Boost Hybrid, Decimate, Torch. Maybe an All Day to replace the GripIt, but I really like that ball. #900Gsince07

I might dream too!
-
Also going to add an All Day as the Maniac was one of my all time favorites. Probably an All Night too.
-
Just picked up two Blurs! Already threw the solid.
Oh my! Sleeper.

Since trying Motiv towards the end of last summer, I've added every ball that they've released since then plus a few older ones. Just waiting for my friend to pick up my Apex and Octane. So I don't really need any new ones.
That said, I'm basically a ball "collector" so I will definitely be adding more. I have one Venom Shock already, drilled with the motion hole. That ball has definitely been a go to ball this summer - sometimes too late after struggling with stronger pieces. I'm bowling at the same center where Ball Reviews Canada films and the backends have been really strong this summer (ok, they often are), but there is out of bounds. I want to add a 2nd Shock and drill it pin under. Thinking rico.
I will probably also add the Tribal Fire. More and more I have been going to weaker pieces. I'm finding that I can only use the stronger pieces on the extremely heavy oil and/or long patterns. Even then, I'm usually balling down.
Outside of Motiv I have also had my eye on the Storm Optimus and the Hammer Black Widow Legend. I loved the original Black Widow (and some of the subsequent gas mask core releases).
Summary:
Motiv Ascent Apex (waiting to be picked up)
Motiv Octane (waiting to be picked up)
Motiv Venom Shock (#2)
Motiv Tribal Fire
Storm Optimus (maybe)
Hammer Black Widow Legend (maybe)
And probably anything else Motiv releases
-
So far, I added the Covert Revolt and Sigma Sting for this fall. Both work really well for my game but especially love the Sigma Sting and it's versatility.
The next ball that I'm thinking of adding is probably going to be the Tribal Fire. I could use a good lower end hybrid to replace my Frantic.
Overall, Motiv is putting out some great equipment and feel they're as good or even better than Storm/Roto. This is coming from a Storm/Roto Grip guy. Those who are looking to check the brand out- start with the Sigma Sting. You won't regret it.
-
Well, so far I've added a DV8 Dude, Seismic Desperado TSE, Storm IQTF, Columbia Blur Hybrid, Lane Masters Black Pearl Blue Ocean, and another Hammer Arson LF. The sad thing is, I'm probably not done yet ;D.
Drillbit
-
I think at this point I will be looking at either an Octane or Optimus (probably Octane) and getting a Track Spare+ spare ball.
-
I am currently using a Storm Invasion, DV8 Marauder Madness, and Storm Zero Gravity. The Zero Gravity is a good ball on medium light to medium heavy for my style. I plan to drill a DV8 Nightmare and Endless Nightmare for the Fall 2014 leagues.
-
I got some old school coming 4 Dyno-thanes, and I am getting some Radical's just don't know which ones..
-
I'm trying a lot of Storm for the first time since 2004 and I have a NIB Tour Power, Too Hot and Hy-Road to drill along with 3-4 more purchases. They will most likely include an Optimus and the IQ Series.
-
Black Widow Legend and the Blue Hammer for sure. Absolut Flip or a Fortera Exile (I'll always have a place in my heart for Brunswick) if I get some extra cash or just randomly bored. I want to try the Dream from 900G but I already got stuff that is going to more than likely overlap it (If surface changes aren't applied). I am extremely interested in trying something from Seismic. There stuff looks amazing. I've seen a few people throw there stuff and I was in awe.

not judging, but the newest Storm/Roto that you have listed is 3 years old.
-
i will be adding a radical reax pearl, and the hammer blackwidow legend to my arsenal of venom shock, widow assassain, and crazy antics.
-
I will be getting one new ball. I'm having a furious debate with myself as to whether it will be a Covert Revolt or a Sigma Sting.

If you are bowling in heavier oil, get the Revolt, otherwise, the Sting is a better choice. I don't use my Revolt much, but I have two Sigma Stings, one sanded at 2k and one polished. Between the two, they handle 90% of the conditions I see.
-
Just added a Thrash Frenzy, Octane, and next month, a Tribal Fire. Go Motiv!!

The Critical Theory was actually bought NIB last summer and only has a season of use on it. However, I am planning on overhauling the rest of the arsenal this summer and throughout the season. Probably going all Motiv or possibly a mix of Seismic and Motiv.
-
I'm gonna have an assortment of companies in my bag none of them are paying me or giving me stuff so I'm going to throw what I can that being said I won't throw storm or roto much anymore
-
The only thing I'm thinking about adding is a Grease Monkey Pow to compliment my Yeti, and original Grease Monkey.

I understand. I do hope you try the new Storm and Roto stuff in the near future. Roto has come a long way since Schlemer became the man. The Critical was the year before. I am glad you have found success with Motiv, as did I before joining Team Storm/Roto. If you need any help picking out your next Utah piece, don't hesitate to ask!
-
Expecting a Blue Solid Ringer on my doorstep in the next day or two. Did some research and I'm pretty sure that the cover/core combo will be perfect to fight the wet/dry fresh house shots I see.
All my other stuff was purchased in the spring and I don't think anytihing has more than 30 games on it.
Also, got 2 Marauder Madnesses, a Freakin' Frantic, and a Totally Defiant in the stockpile when needed.
-
If my back stays healthy enough to continue bowling, I am considering moving up 1# in weight from 12# to 13# and replacing my Motiv Primal Scream and Thrash Frenzy with a Motiv Primal Rage and Octane.
-
In the last few weeks added a Hammer Spike Blue/Black, Storm Freak N Frantic and Wipe Out, DV8 Endless Nightmare. Waiting on the Black Widow Legend, Roto Grip Hysteria. And a few others that that have caught my eye. Thinking maybe a Absolut Flip, Rude Dude and a DV8 Glitter Gold for spares.
-
Picked up Freak'n's for my entire wednesday team lol. Man I got problems..
-
Picking up an original Desperado, maybe a Pitch Black, Super Natural, Tank. See where im going with this, all urethane this fall. Make myself work this fall.
-
While I'm not in leagues ( stupid work) I plan on grabbing either the new Black Widow or switching over and trying something from Motiv. Need something both stronger and weaker than my ALF which is a great bench mark piece for me. Thinking of going with a Urethane since I need something to also shoot spares with.
Not sure what I would go with on the Motiv side if I go that route, maybe a Sigma Sting.
-
Who am I kidding....the Rude Dude looks mighty tempting and IQ Fusion is just about a must.
Going to hold back some because I know I'll be picking up a couple of balls when I do Vegas in Feb.
-
A whole new arsenal.
Just not sure what direction or brand I will drill up yet.
I want a company that is PBA compliant for my future bowling.
