LThe latest USBC magazine
« on: May 24, 2006, 03:18:08 AM »
has an article about who has over 100,000 pins in the ABC/USBC tournament.  One of 4 (5?) new additions was Glenn Allison.  They had a picture of the others, but not him.  Am I reading too much into this? Is this a (yet another) slight of Mr. Allison?  I understand that editorial choices have to be made and maybe the figured we all know what he looks like anyway, but it just struck me as odd.

More likely they asked for a picture but didn't get one in time for printing.  Or they asked if they could use a stock picture of him but he refused or didn't get back to them in time.

Why would they slight him?

Because he shot the first 900 which they (ABC) refuse to recognize.  I think the ABC/USBC just wants Mr. Allison to go away.

Shelley, you asked in another thread

Refresh my memory on why Glenn Allison's 900 should have been approved.

Because it was bowled on lanes that almost certainly would be recognized as legal by any standard.  However the ABC did not want to allow anyone to ever break Allie Brandt's "alltime" scoring record.
