Came home after a trip and found my heavy oil ball cracked all the way around, so I'm in the market for something new. I'm leaning toward Storm/Roto or possibly Motiv. My last two high performance balls from Brunswick cracked after limited usage, and I've never been much for Ebonite. I might consider Track or Columbia, but other than the Paradox, don't know much about their lines.
I'm still bowling mostly sport shots, so I'm looking for something for Shark and Scorpion mostly. I'd like something that's pretty clean through the fronts and covers some boards in the back. I have below average ball speed and a little rev dominant, so super strong balls tend to burn up before getting down lane for me. I think the No Rules might be too rolly over the whole lane and the Snap Lock might be too flippy for sport shots. I've heard good things about the Wreck It, but the specs don't look very strong. A pearl No Rules sounds intriguing, but have no idea if/when it might be released. The driller I just switched to doesn't carry Motiv, but can order anything. He only works between 12 and 5 because he works at another place further away, so I haven't had a chance to talk to him about it yet. They have competitive prices, so I will be buying from them, so no internet specials.
Does the Wreck It sound like my best option? I like the motion of the original and a stronger version should still be pretty strong at the break point, even with some surface. But if it's as strong as some here have said, it could be a winner for what I'm looking for. I don't know anything about the Trident or any of Motiv's other high end balls - they just aren't popular here.

I don't see the Wreck-it as a heavy oil ball. If you think the No Rules would be too rolly and the Snap Lock too flippy, why not look at a Lock?

I don't know too many people who liked the Lock. I'm not sure about the Alpha Crux; might still be too early/rolly - maybe with a smoother surface or slight polish. I haven't seen any in person.
Several people have said that the Wreck It is much stronger than it specs indicate and where it sits in the line. Again, with slower ball speed and being rev dominant, I'm probably looking for a strong medium to med/heavy ball, not a true oiler. A strong pearl that wasn't super strong on the back might be my first choice.

It's sounds like you're looking for a Trident. From what I've seen it's definitely a heavy oil ball that still has good pop down the lane.

Have you look into the !Q Solid? It's a good ball for med-heavy oil conditions with some pop down lane.

i'm bowling on a flat 46 foot of oil on my pba summer league with the drilling of 50x5x40 my dv8 grudge has no problem hitting the hole with explosive power and pin carry great oil ball

After reading this my mind went to Warrior Elite, Paradox Pearl, or step down to Cyborg. I think you and I have a similar scenario when dealing with heavy oil balls and I'm venturing to say very strong solid covers don't pan out well i.e. Haywire. Medium-Heavy Hybrid with some downlane continuation drilled accordingly. Completely ball parking this but that's my thoughts.

The Trident is your ball. More downlane than an Alpha or No Rules, but can handle true heavy. And it won't die in 12 games.

The Wreck It is a verrrrrrry good ball in that price point, but I'm not sure I'd consider it a true heavy oil ball. A lot of ball, but not my first choice for heavy oil. My choice would be the No Rules. This ball is just a tad different motion than most heavy oil assymetricals. If you are still unsure about the assym.--the Haywire likes oil also and it is symmetrical so gives a little more reaction down lane. Hope this helps.

I have the Paradox which is plenty of ball for me
great heavy oil piece
the Scandal was at least an arrow stronger than the Paradox, basically not useable for me at OBB condition
this new one - i heard about an arrow stronger than the Scandal
why, I have no idea, well its because people are buying them like crazy.....

Alpha crux is very strong for my low rev low speed speed style. Paradox pearl or polished hybrid has been very good for me on long sport patterns. One caveat. On longer patterns I am looking for something that I can get to hit without trying to open up swing area.

Haywire all day for heavy, just picked up my second one last weekend. Also you mentioned about maybe Track, I picked up a Heat X-treme and I am very surprised at how strong this ball is. I would put it a couple boards less than my Haywire but just as smooth and continuous. I see the X-treme being very good on sport patterns.
