New rules - buying stuff today
« on: May 30, 2018, 07:44:05 AM »
Well, since the wizards of smart at the USBC have outlawed weight holes because the two handlers have bent the rules for years, its time I started bending them myself..... my new Idol will be drilled without a weight hole and 3 oz of top and side so it conforms to their awesome new rules.  I am not drilling anything with the intention of having to plug it back up in a year.  It's the stupidest rule I have ever heard of.

I'm picking up a Hyper Cell Fuzed today.....no weight hole.  I'm going to keep the statics within the current rules to ensure it's good for Nationals this year as well as going forward.  I'm taking the same general approach though, being mindful of the future.

Surface is king!  Any adjustments I need to make will be to the surface.....I'm going to crack the surface to 3000 before I even throw the first shot and adjust from there.

Just don't bowl anything that has decent money up for grabs and is sanctioned.

I agree it's dumb that the new rules have been set and announced but can't fully conform to it for 2 years

Yep ball stash time.  I wonder how hard it is to get drillers to drill a ball that would be illegal today but legal in the future.  I bet some would be hesitant to do it.  That eight months is going to really suck for getting anything done by the PSOs.  Pretty sure will wait for after the rush before I get anything plugged if I ever do.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

This is the dumbest logic I've seen in some time. You're blatantly breaking the rules now because you're too cheap to buy a new ball in 2 years? Bowlers are the biggest divas...

Lol, right? Just embarrassing.

It’s not very hard to drill a ball with no hole that conforms to current and future rules.

If you don't want a hole that's fine , but Why drill it at the 3 oz of top and side limit?

Why not just drill it the way you normally would and just not put a hole in it and let the statics fall where they may, which will most likely be under the new limit when it goes into affect.

OP already stated, it's time for him to start bending the rules too, like the dreaded 2-handed bowlers have been doing all along.

That's logical guys.

A real man would have drilled it with 3oz negative side & thumb.

I'm not entirely sure what's happening here, if this is serious or trolling and I need to be caught up before I post something and look like an idiot . .  The OP and some of the responses have to be trolling . .

Everyone’s over here “more hook” and I’m just trying for enough hook to throw up 5 or 10 depending on the shot
