Pchee might wear out the finger holes on a ball without grips, but I don't think the rest of us are in danger of doing so.

I used to hang up or hit up on the ball with grips, so I got rid of them. I haven't used them in 15 or so years. Every once in a while I get the itch to try them, but even if I liked it, that's a lot of balls to plug and re-drill. That's also the reason I haven't drilled up anything 14#; I'm afraid I'd like them too much and have to replace everything. As far as no grips go, there's nothing to wear out and I get a great feel with out them. WAY too many people need to change out they're grips more often than they do. Worn grips get bigger and can change your span. Both things promote squeezing. Mine are drilled oval (don't know if you can tell from the pictures in my profile), so they are the same shape as my fingers.
