Not happy with ball fit
« on: April 08, 2008, 01:06:59 AM »
My span is 4 15/16 and 5 i have 5/16 rev thumb pitch It feels like I constantly have to grab the ball, to keep it on my hand. Why is this. I have 0 Left or Right...

Too much reverse for that lateral for YOU despite what the tables say!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS if your coke bottle test shows 1/8 right lateral and you added it you would increase holding power.....if not and it shows 0 go at least 1/8 more forward.
Good luck.  Failing that...go another 1/8 forward be careful to have enough front bevel!

Open the door...see what's possible...and just walk right on through...that's how easy success feels..

I would never try to fit someone without seeing their hand, but I will share my experience with you.  A few years back I had identical spans to you with 3/8 reverse and 0 left/right.  After having to squeeze the ball for years, I dropped to 4 11/16 and 4 3/4 with 0 for/rev 0 left/right.  This eliminated my squeezing and has softened my release tremendously.  Again this is just my experience so take it for what it's worth.  If you have access to a jayhawk fitting ball with movable spans and pitches just tinker with it until you find something that feels good.

You're over a quarter reverse. That's a good possiblity right there. I missed from there to about 1/8 forward with the same lateral. The grabbing decreases with no hand damage issues. I would consult with your driller.

low tilt & rotation with that pap....

i would be willing to wager that your span is too long for the flexibility and length of your hand.

were you fit like this?...

then go find a second or third opinion as to how to reduce the amount of grip pressure you need to use.
