I'm thinking about trying to play with my currently dead HyRoad. It has little to no life left in it's current state. I just gave it a warm water bath last night, and cleaned it with cleaner and alcohol.
I am in need of some mega grip, as i have discovered this weekend, my Defiant (Drilled Pin Down) loves front end oil, but hates carry down. My Versa-Max likes to work great once you create an edge on the oil, and can put it there. My C-System 2.5, well, let's just say i think the thumb has a slight different pitch to it and i can't consistently throw it all the time, especially if it's not first out of the bag.
I have a relatively dead Black Widow Pearl, and a relatively dead Hy-Road. Not looking for every day use out of these, but the wood lane house i bowl at keeps finding new ways to surprise me with their oil. No two nights have been even close to the same all season. Last night, mega carry down and front end oil, my defiant and my versa max were not wanting to come back at all, infact the first 18 frames was spend adjusting right for the carry down. Managed a 253 last game, once the Versa-Max got it's conditions where it wanted it.
Is there a minimum grit i need to use on these surfaces? How hard is it to sand the ball by hand? Siaair or Abralon? Suggestions, as i can't even think of a new ball til atleast tax time, which will probably be when i get my replacement bag instead.
