what ball to get?
« on: August 13, 2003, 07:51:21 AM »
im looking for more of a medium heavy oiled reactive ball. was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. right now on heavy oil have a command zone arc but would like something that goes longer. it is drilled 2E on brunswicks sheet with a large shallow balance hole on the pap. sometimes too condition specific and need something to go longer? any help would be appreciated. also if any of you guys no of a particle that lasts a while that wuld be good too, but in the past particle have lost 5+ boards of hook after 100 games, even with doc's elixir. thanks

Hey, I just dropped off my inferno at the pro shop today to get it drilled (4x3).  I'm trying to get it to fit between my purple pearl and detonator.  I will update you on how well I like the ball, but from what I've heard about it, it would make a great medium-heavy oil ball.  And if you need some length, a basic label drilling may work.  With your ball speed, my guess would be it would be enough ball to fit what you are looking for.  Also, the activator coverstock should hold up well (at least brunswick says it will). Anyone else feel free to correct me if you disagree.

Well, a good medium heavy oil ball is Hyde, but if your looking for a reactive that goes longer, maybe a Throttle/R.

Just bought a Blade reactive  solid. The ugly green and yellow one.
It handles oil better than my wow. Not sure if I can use it much. May need more oil than what I see. I got to use it for about a 1/2 a game and the lanes changed and it would burn up. But it goes pretty long then makes a left turn that made my eyes pop!!! Cheap too!!

V2 Strong by Ebonite.  DC Tour by Visionary.  Duece by Storm (X-Factor core with a Shock Trauma coverstock.  In a heavier condition, I would recommend staying away from pearls.  Balls like the Throttle/R and Reloaded are not going to perform in a TRUE medium heavy condition, because they are just going to spin like tires on on icy road, unless you are a high rev player and can make it move.
