Best spare ball ?
« on: February 26, 2004, 11:16:59 PM »
I am looking for a new spare ball. I was thinking of the storm spare or a maxim or maybe a blue dot/white dot. Has anyone had experience with any of these or can recommend something els.

Many thanks, Alex

Did I see someone say get a XXXL for a spare ball?  Why would you spend $140
for a spare ball? For the money just get a old fashion White dot for $50.  I got
one and that thing goes dead straight for my corner pins.

Why? BEcuase for 140 you get a great spare ball or all conditions, plus a first frame ball for drier lanes, your actually saving about 100 dollars if you have a ball for each condition like most people, that's why.

IF you really want to be cool with your spare ball, I suggest you go out and look for NIB rubber ball and polish it up. Those are the best when you see somebody out use a rubber ball for spares.

my spare ball has started to track up a bit, like not nicked up or nething just like sanded on the track portion. i've polished it using a spinner and track clean and polish, track magic, storm xtra, track delayed reaction, and even car wax. Nothing seems to work for more then 20-30 games. do you guys have any suggestions besides resurface/ buying a new ball? it used to go dead straight and i no its not that big of a deal but its kind of annoying that it grabs outside of 5. thanks.
