DIGITAL Version Kaufman/DoDo Scale? $3000? *PICS!*
« on: July 05, 2005, 04:05:00 PM »
Hi everyone. Just wondering. Has anyone heard of a Digital ball scale? Supposedly it is supposed to measure side weight, thumb weight, finger weight, top weight etc. I've heard somewhere that it was spotted at one of the booths at Nationals?

$3000 a scale is nuts! Has anyone seen this in a shop? I would love to hear some feedback on it. Crazy!

Ok guys, did some research. It looks like Jayhawk bowling company has a digital scale. This is probably the one I'm hearing about...check out the link below...Dude it looks like a time machine hehe...

Man, I wonder how often you have to calibrate this thing? I know you can possibly save a bunch of time regarding weighing balls, but for possibly $3000?

The pro shop at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Illinois has that exact scale.  I saw it in there while I was bowlin the IBCs.  Owner said it cost $2600.  Nice looking piece though, and if I had a shop and had the money, I'd buy it.  Saves loads of time, and is extremely accurate.

Even normal DoDo scales are expensive.  A friend was setting up a pro shop in  Palmyra Va.  He had a list of things to buy for him to get setup.  So as part of a swap I ordered pitch gauges, quarter scales etc etc.  We looked at the computerized scale and just went wow!  He ended up buying a nice normal scale but I think we added the computerized one to our Christmas wish list.

My driller bought one of the Jayhawk ones over here in the UK.
Sent it back the next week as it wouldnt calibrate correctly. I think hes decided to stick with the standard ones as they are more reliable.
Looked nice though.

Great responses guys. I'm wondering, how much does this Gizmo actually go for? (retail?)
