Ball Deal?
« on: May 25, 2010, 11:57:59 PM »
My ball driller calls me up yesterday to say he has a Black Widow Nasty he's dealin on-190.00 otd. My ? will this give me a different look than my VG? Worth the $ for my game? too much ball for ths? I use the VG at a house that has very heavy mids so I can get some ball reaction as I am a rev challenged stroker. I had a widow pearl I didnt care for, sorta nervous about the widow line. Thanks for your thoughts....

If you are a rev challenged player, why are you in the middle of the lane to begin with?  What is the area out between the first and second arrows like?  If you are getting alot of reaction out of a VG, chances are a Nasty isnt going to give you any more than what you are already seeing.  What happens when you move out closer to the gutter with your VG?

I usually play up between 5 and 8. Oily midlane meaning 1/2way downlane? I can play out to about the 3 usually don't have to. Cant usually bring it back playing 35/20. Hope this clears things up, thanks for the input

How is the VG drilled and what surface is on it?

I would expect the Widow to backend more than the VG. 190 is an ok price, about average I'd suspect, depending on your area. The Nasty might play well once the mids break down, giving you more length and a sharper reaction than the VG.

drilled pin up slightly right dont know angles small weight hole on midline. surface is at a maroon scotchbrite pad by hand, trying to keep surface that I can duplicate myself.I already have...

VG
Cell pearl- similar layout to VG-2nd drill
Nomad solid-Pin down dual angle layout-2nd drill
Nomad pearl-Pin up lg weight hole near thumb ie double thumb-2nd drill

I reckon the Nasty would be too similar to the Cell Pearl.

+1

If not, then probably close to the VG.
