Title: Pain on ring pad
Post by: drew999 on April 02, 2019, 01:47:28 PM
Lately my ring finger pad has been sore after bowling and the area seems to be developing a callous as outlined below. Currently drilled zero linear with lift inserts, should I switch to oval and/or add reverse pitch to the holes?

Must note that my fingers are also swelling more than they did just a few weeks ago. Middle finger seems fine except when it swells.

Switch the lift in that finger to oval and see how that feels. If I remember correctly, the power lift gives 1/4 more forward pitch.

If I switch just the ring and leave the middle with the lift how will that affect the roll?

Your ball roll will be a bit more forward

Amen to dooms suggestions. Had same problem, went to ovals. Been fine ever since.

i can't imagine it being much different....  i can see a middle finger grip change affecting a shot more than a ring finger, but still not huge...

i dunno though, i only use oval grips
