Drilling of first ball
« on: March 31, 2009, 08:03:54 AM »
I just purchased my first ball and am going to get it drilled.  I don't know where my pap is but I do know what type of ball motion I'd like to have.  Will a pro shop help me figure out my pap before they drill?

Also anyone have any recommendation on a good pro shop for drilling near Wayne NJ?

When you say "first ball," do you mean you've been using a house ball up until now?

Do you throw a hook of any kind?

Yup I've been throwing house balls up until now.  Currently, I don't throw much of a hook if any.

You really won't have a "permanent" pap for a while then.  Make sure you buy an entry level reactive, have it drilled in a standard pattern, with a fingertip drilling, take some lessons, then worry about getting your next ball drilled with your correct pap.

^^^What he said.^^^

Congrats on getting into bowling, exo! It's a sport you'll enjoy for awhile, for sure. Right now, just concentrate on fit, practicing and some lessons if you can find a good coach. That's how you'll develop your own style (and thus, your own PAP, etc.).
