FIGJAM For Me! and Thoughts on White Pattern
« on: June 09, 2010, 04:58:51 AM »
Shot a 300 on the way to 932 on the USBC White pattern in league last night.

White Pattern played like a top hat flat in the center, dry outside, very little hold in the center and alot of hook outside of ten. Used my craze (specs in profile) most of the the night playing deeper lines starting about 16 out to 8 the first game and just moving deeper as needed. It did carry down very fast during the first game. Other than that is wasn''t terribly tough but not terribly easy, had to make good shots to get strikes.

Congrats on the 300. I have not played on the Red, White, or Blue patterns yet but I hear they aren't all that difficult once you know where to play at and as always make quality shots.

Was it sanctioned or not? I shot 290 on the Cheetah last week but it wasn't sanctioned but I'm not too concerned about it.

Yeah it was a sanctioned league, a PBAX League every season we have a vote for the last week to see what pattern we bowl on, our choices were the Masters, TOC or White pattern.

Unfortunately, the White pattern is NOT sport certified.

Why in the world would the league management allow a non-sport compliant pattern to be put out during a sport league? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of bowling in a Sport/PBAX league?

My thoughts exactly. Congrats on the 300, but I don't see how the nights bowling can be counted in your average in a PBAX league.

Your right, you shouldn''t have posted it. All the computer lame wad''s who think they are the best bowler in the country tell you that it''s not big deal. Gay. Congrats on your 300 it''s always an awsome acomplishment. I am looking forward to playing those patterns in a few weeks. Last summer I started a fun (unsanctioned) sport league so people could have the opportunity to try and bowl on harder patterns and not feel pressured or scared. It was fun, and we are doing it this year. Anyway nice shooting again.

Thanks for the congrats guys.

Headwest, The center I bowled in has some of the White and Red patterns. I dont know how the Center got the patterns.

I do know that, the Center in question (Sabre Lanes) Is holding Wisconsin Womens State Tourney this coming season, IMO they are testing the pattern this summer to see how it holds up, and how well it scores. And If results are favorable using the White Pattern for the Womens State. The guy that runs the leagues in that house and I are friends and he was telling me that the State tourneys would be run on one of the USBC's patterns this coming season, which would validate them testing the pattern now.

I went back and re-read the thread and didn't see anything that indicated that the final week was for fun. We had a similar vote in our PBAX league and the choices were the 5 animal patterns or the 2010 USBC Open pattern. The league selected the USBC Open pattern.

Again, I just questioned why a non-sport certified pattern would be offered as a choice for a PBAX league.
