So, with the new rules coming up are any of you planning on doing your own plugging ?

Agreed. Long time before I have to worry about that, but,

NO, I will not be doing it myself.

For most ball whores on here if you simply bring an extra ball with you to get plugged every time you go to the pro shop will be amazed how quickly get it done for whole arsenal.  Except of course for the couple of gems you really don't want ugly plugs in grumble.

(edit: as for doing it myself uh no.  Being able to get it done for $10 a pop means better let pros do it.  Been surprised so far also how little it has affected ball motion at least for me which would probably change if I did it lol).

In 20 months from now probably won't be using any of my current balls that have balance/weight/motion holes. But if I do, it won't be more than one or two that will need to be plugged .  So I'll just "see what happens" then.
Any new balls will be drilled with no balance/weight/motion holes going forward.....starting now!

I only have 2 balls right now with a weight hole and I only see myself needing to plug 1. The other I plan on replacing by the time it's needed

Right now, I only have 1, and would just get another one.

The USBC will probably change the rule by then so I wouldn't worry about it.  Once they figure out that all you have to do is sink the thumb deeper to get the same effect, the weight hole rule is irrelevant.

The true reason for this is to stop 2 handers from cheating with illegal equipment.  I don't care what politically correct B.S. Chad Murphy wants to spew about pattern integrity .... facts are facts.

Sure sounds like it.  Guess the no thumbers being able to turn the ball either way and get two different reactions from one ball does seem to be the crux at the heart of the rule.  The PC bs is simply trying to cover the fact they are closing a loop hole the USBC caused themselves when they decided on their stupidly low static weight rules however long ago.
