So I got some practice in tonight
« on: April 17, 2008, 12:53:01 PM »
This is the second time I picked up a ball in about a year.  And I got a 172, 118, 158 and 126.  Yahoo!!  So my average is a 143.  Not too bad.  I'm happy with that!    It's kind of tough.  I have to make a really concious effort to raise my arm up when I release the ball otherwise the ball goes right towards the 7 pin.  (Unless it's the 7 pin that I'm trying to shoot, then it just goes to the gutter.)

I think I may have to find a league to join now.

So how did everyone else bowl tonight?

I didn't bowl tonight, but did last night. We bowled the no-team and our team is short a bowler, so it was a short night.  170 (2 opens I should have converted) - 214 (1 open) - 180 (2 opens, both wide open splits) = 564

Joining a league will guarantee you bowl regularly.  You also have the chance to watch other bowlers and possibly get some tips from more vetern bowlers.  If you want to improve, it also might be good to get some lessons from a coach.
