Back to the drawing board.
Ford and Chevy going to own all the car dealerships?
Maytag going to own all the appliance stores?
Toro going to own all the lawnmover stores?
Nike going to own all the shoe stores?
The whole idea of a Super type store, is to have a large variety!!!!
Just from reading post on this site, one can easily see, that so many don't like brand B, or Brand C, or brand L, So do you really think a store selling only Brand L, or Brand B will make it.
Now back to bowling. And just where do you think a ball company is going to store all of this msde. Without Distributor's warehouses???
Ball companies use Dist. as warehouses, When a new release comes out, Dist. many times have the balls in their warehouses before the actual release date to the pro shops. 15-20, dist, each maybe with 300-500 of the new release. That's a lot of warehouse space!!!! Without Dist, ball companies would have to store these balls, which means they would need more warehouse space. And that would drive the cost per ball up.
So it is much easier for a company to simply set a floor price on their equipment.
