First night back...
« on: January 19, 2004, 10:17:10 PM »
Game 1...I had a very lackluster performance - missed 4 spares including 8th and 9th frame...152.  The other team had a fellow with a 153 average bowl 210 and another guy with 193 average rolled 237.  We got smoked!

Game 2...Started warming up...missed spare in 9th again...179.  Fellow on other team that bowled 210 rolls 133 this game but the other four guys bust 200 including a 226 from a guy who averaged 155 and a 265 from the guy who rolled 237 in the first game.  We got smoked, again!

Game 3...Good game going until the 8th when I missed the 7-pin...dang, I can't seem to finish a game...180.  The other team "relaxed" a bit this game...237-265 rolls 192 to finish with 694.  Our #5 man, scratch handicap, quietly rolls 268 to finish with a 716...we eaked out two points!

So I begin my official comback with a 511...much room for improvement though...couldn't pick up a spare on the left side of the lane (I'm a righty) last night although the 10-pin was a piece of cake (on this night anyway).  Next week will be better!

TheBowlingKid25:
First night bowling in league in 17 years...hadn't bowled at all since '94 until Thanksgiving weekend '03.

Sawbones:
I'm not disappointed in 500 first night back but it could have been better...too many "easy" misses.  The 7-pin misses started off left and when I tried to correct with a line more to the right the ball wouldn't/couldn't recover and I missed right.

What you described sounds exactly like my night!
