Pet Peeves
« on: July 22, 2014, 12:17:54 PM »
Yeah, obviously I'm easily peeved, but let's make this a fun topic.  Mine include:

High fives in practice.  I'm not trying to strike for at LEAST the first 8 minutes of practice, maybe not at all, just trying to get loose.  Between watching the 8-10 people on the pair, there's all the information I need to line up.  If I strike, it's luck, please don't high five me or make any comments about "saving some for later."

The idea that all women have to wear mechanical arms.  I understand the need for support, but when support turns into a crutch and all the sudden everyone is trying to push wrist braces or gadgets onto women simply because they're female, that irks me.

The guy that starts slapping shots off after the front 7.  Lol I know getting a lot of strikes in a row is fun, but when you slap off the 8th one and start walking several pairs over on somebody else's approaches watching each shot . . come on man (Barkley voice).

The longwinded guy that gets on this site and wastes a bunch of space complaining about everything.  Wait . .

What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

My scratch doubles partner did this last year. Dude took FOREVER once he was on the approach. Then he would usually leave the 5 pin standing out of the full rack.

What really made me go ballistic was when he took forever in his setup and then flagged the %$^&!@* 5 pin on the spare attempt.

I would of had a migraine....

I think it goes without saying that we didn't win the league...

- Guys who give you a play by play of every single game.

We have a guy in one of my leagues who gives an unsolicited analysis of each shot as he walks back from the approach. Really obnoxious.

The people who think moving up or back 6 inches (or even less) on the approach really makes any difference in their ball reaction (most end up sliding right where they did before).

BR.com pet peeve-the use of piece or pieces.  Bad attempt trying to sound like you fit in.

God, I thought I was the only person annoyed by this. "Piece"? Its a damn bowling ball. Also, "punch up" when describing drilling a bowling ball annoys me too.

People who take two shots in practice, its amazing how many people don't realize everyone gets more shots when everyone throws one ball. Typically, the main guys crying they need a full rack to see what their ball is doing go on to shoot 520 for the evening.

The people that constantly try to bowl the "perfect" way and tries to tell you are very abnormal on everything you do as if being unique is a bad thing.

People that believe that using the strike ball on a spare shot will mess up the track the next strike shot.

People that complain when you shoot at spares @ 25mph and constantly cause deadwood.

People that complain when the balance foot hits the ball return cover

People that are very slow at getting off the approach

People that do 2 lane courtesy as if it they can't focus without ADHD medication to bowl well.  Then they get pissed even though it isn't in the rules.  If it is in the rules fine, but otherwise I don't have to meditate before every freaking shot.

People that throw 2 balls in practice instead of 1 like everyone else.

People that reset to a full rack in practice even if there is a pocket shot left standing.

People who walk into the center and into the bowling area by the keyboard with there wet shoes from the rain and give me a dumb founded look like WHAT?

People who every shot that hits the head pin thinks it should be a strike.

People who say to me during warm ups you dont need practice sit down!.  I'm like it ain't practice it im getting loose.

People that tell me/ask me why I don't go pro because of my 240 THS average.  I tell them how hard the shots are and the practice I would need and they look at me like what, its not the same there as it is here?

One guy at my center who when having a good night always tells everyone he only ever needs one ball to bowl, but on nights he struggles he goes through 3,4, or even 5 balls sometimes for a 3 game league night.
