Pro Shop Software
« on: August 18, 2007, 11:05:55 AM »
Does anyone know where I can get a free program for a pro shop that keeps track of a users drilling specs?  If not do you know of one which offers the best bang for the buck?

I would use the Ebonite if you only want spec tracking.

I used the Ebonite software, but had constant problems with the inventory and point of sale part.

I also bought Grip Ware from Jayhawk, it has some nice features, but isn't as user friendly as the Ebonite.

I had been trying to interest some of my software geek friends in Houston in writing something, but never got anything going.  Just not a lot of good options.

I imagine it would be relatively simple to knock something together using Microsoft Access...

I did one years ago using Visual Basic .NET (man what a crap program) that tied with an Access database. Not hard to do if you just want the basics.

We also use the Ebonite Pro Shop coordinator with Quickbooks software.  It seems to be alright.  The Inventory is a beast but actually very good.  The drill sheets  I haven't played with yet.  We just started using the system and are running the regular register and matching everything on the new system until we get all the bugs worked out.
