Is there one glue better than others for inserts?
-
There may be.....I think my shop uses actual Turbo brand glue.
-
I use Gorilla glue gel

No difference except if you're a rookie you may want to use a thicker glue to limit the mess. Gels are a little easier to control the amount, but usually take a few seconds longer to set up. Steer away from the 1-3 second glue unless you know what you are doing. Very thin, easy to use too much and make a mess.
If you want bigger sized bottles you can find them at your local hobby shop.

I use Loctite Gel Glue...cleaner, easier, and last longer in the bag...

If you want to avoid a mess, Krazy Glue makes a bottle with a brush (sort of like nail polish). Great for getting the glue exactly where you want it.
You can find it in craft stores like Michael's and A.C. Moore. Those stores usually have 40% or 50% off one item coupons in their weekly newspaper ads. Final cost ends up being under $2.
It stays usable for a few months but it does go bad eventually if not used after opening.

I have tried several others and I always, ALWAYS return to this one (Loctite Gel superglue in the blue and gray bottle; readily available at Home Depot and Lowe's and WalMart). There's not much in the bottle but the gel formulations so easily allows you to use a single solitary drop, that even the tiny amount in this bottle lasts the hobbyist a long time. I wouldn't recommend it for pro shops unless you can get a larger bottle.

+1 ... Same glue for me. I have tried most all of them and found this one the best holding and easiest to apply of all of them.

It's not the best, but I buy the 12 pack of Super Glue(Original version). They are small individual tubes so they will last in your bag unopened until you need it without drying out.

One time I ran out of Loctite, so I used CA Glue that I use for glue'n RC tires. My other hobby is RC off road short course trucks, on road, and crawling lol...Big boy toys.....
Oh, the CA glue is holding up..viscosity is between gel and liquid and this glue can last you a long long long long time. Plus, same or cheaper than Krazy and Loctite glues...

I use the LocTite gel but buy the package of two tubes. Quite a bit more glue for the $$ and only a little bit more difficult to use. -- JohnP

I use Turbo Slo-Zip, stuff is great.

We use the VISE insta-cure+ (purple cap) you should be able to pick up a 1/2oz. bottle for like 12 to 15 bucks.
I think pretty much any super glue works fine so whatever you use, look for the products with a thick gel and good air tight caps.

Super glue.
