quick plugging question
« on: October 24, 2003, 12:03:02 AM »
i know this topic has been sort of covered before, but i couldn't find where.

Two part question.  There is a sale on unclaimed balls near my place, everything for $25 as is.  They have some Factors, Deuces, lots of crap, and of course, LOTS OF GYROS !!! (sarcasm)

Is there any harm done when plugging a ball drilled for a lefty, and then having it redrilled for a righty (myself), assuming the plugging is done well?

Is there a limit on how many times a ball should be plugged?  I've seen some of the inventory and some of the balls have as many as 3 FULL rounds done, fingers and thumb, so i would make 4...or 3.5

Thanks a lot for responding.  This board has been a wonderful addition to my hourly websurfing here at work.

No problem with the lefty to righty. In fact it actually helps. The righty will track on the other side of the ball so it will be like new and it is pretty easy to get good pin positions without drilling back into plug. The only issue I can think of would be if they had a weight hole. You would have to plug it too and be careful that you don’t track over it.

I really don’t know of a limit. IMHO 3 is about the limit above that missing old plugs with both the track and drilling is nearly impossible.

Cool deal.  thanks pin, i never thought about how the track for a righty would be relatively unused.
