I love house hacks
« on: April 04, 2005, 03:52:57 PM »
Well, last night I was bowling in my sport league.  They changed the pattern from a shorter/flat pattern to a very long flat pattern.  Everyone was lost for the first game, and the high game was about 180.  As the night went on we didn't get much better.  Ok, with that said, this house hack (stand left, throw right) starts mouthing off.  He's in his mid 20's, averages 215 on THS, and has had too much to drink.  All he talks about is how we suck, can't score... blah blah blah.  Now, I'm not feeling well, I'm not bowling well, and I'm in a bad mood, so I start back at him.  It got to the point where we were about to settle our differences outside when I come up with an idea (I always try to avoid physical confrontations).  I pulled out five 100 dollar bills, slam them down on the table and challenge him to put his money up.  We bowled 4 games, 2 on sport, 2 on THS for $100.00 each with the last hundred going to series.  First two games were on the sport shot.  I win easily 192-138 and 214-122.  At this point, I felt bad for him, so I offered to let him off the hook for the last 300.  Well, being the dumbazz that he is, he wants to double our bet on THS.  Since I already had some of his money, and he's an idiot, I accept his challenge.  He got me the first game on THS.  I was trying to hard to hit my mark, and he used his 20 boards to beat me 257-218.  The last game I relaxed, and smoked him.  He whiffed four 10 pins a 3 pin, and a 5 pin.  He ended up shooting 112 and I shot 268.  I will say this about the house hack.. he paid up.  As we left, I thanked him for the Absolute he just bought me. I'm also going to get either a XXXL or a Slate Blue Gargoyle.  I would welcome any ideas or suggestions for a dry/fried condition ball. Can't wait to get to the pro shop Wednesday.

Dry/fried condition ball? Barrage may be your ticket...or the Crisis Pearl, both from Dynothane. Nice shooting deester69, you have to love house hacks who think all conditions are the same....

I can't wait for the scenario you just talked about happens to me. I bowl on a US Open Sport league, and all I hear from people is crap when I tell them my avg. on the shot. Can't wait for that day.....

B-Lefty, not only was I shocked that he showed up, but that he also ponied up the dough.  The entire time we were bowling I thought he'd take off without paying.

Did he ask for a re-match when he's sober?

Not yet, but we'll see what he says on Monday.  That's when I'll run into him again.  And, if he wants, I'll give him a rematch.  You know what they say... It's a shame to let a sucker keep his money... Or something like that.
