What does it mean when my ball...

I got to throw my Xception for the first time today.  The local pro shop guy immediately noticed that on the backend the ball set up with the thumb as the PAP.  I later switched to my 5.0 and it was VERY noticable on that ball.  When it made the turn, you could clearly see my yellow slug spinning.  I have never seen any balls do this before.  Both are drilled similar, with the MB in the strong position and weightholes in the thumb positive quadrant.  The only difference is the pin on the Xception is above the ring, and on the 5.0 it is below it.  I was just curious as to why they roll like that, and what good, if any it is.  Thanks.

Last time I had it measured, it was 5 1/8 over and 3/16 up.

Maybe you should have it remeasured. I know a female bowler whose finger holes axis up almost right on the bridge near the pin deck.  I would say your release has changed considerably.

Where is the mb?  right of thumb or left of thumb?

Agreed. I understand that, but if Raven is saying his ball never did it until now, I would guess a)he has never paid that much attention OR b)something has changed.

With that said, the cheapest things to do would be have someone who knows how you throw the ball watch you and/or have the proshop check your pap again.

My PAP might have changed slightly, but probably not anything significant.  I don't track very high or very low.  I had a feeling that it had more to do with the cores of these balls than anything else.  I was just curious as to why (technically) they do this, and why it is either good or bad.  FWIW, I also threw my Absolute Inferno and did not notice it then.  With the 5.0 is was blatantly obvious.  Even someone else mentioned that it was happening.  In fact, the bowler I was up against said "You are throwing the ball funny.  Did you notice how it's rolling on the backend?"  I think she was trying to get me to change something because I bowled very well against her
