Recommended pro shop in central Illinois?
« on: November 02, 2022, 06:57:41 PM »
I’m currently moving to Springfield,Ill and was wondering if anyone is remotely in the area and has food recommendations. I know king pin is here in town. I didn’t know if there was a better option. I also drive a lot for work so I’m open to anything within an hour. Thank you

First off welcome to the area, I’m about an hour and a half north, but Springfield is a great bowling area with Champaign, Peoria and St. Louis all not that far away with a lot of bowling action.

Now for pro shops, the one in King Pin is solid, Rick Coy’s solid 9 shop in Taylorville is great and Rick is an awesome dude. The bowlersmart in Peoria’s landmark lanes is run by Tony Schnack and he’s a great dude too. You have quite a few good options. David Bolt in Champaign is also another really good one, he’s got two shops if I remember correctly there.

Awesome I appreciate the feedback. Looks like I may end up in Decatur so all of this will end up less than 45 minutes from me. Now I just have to find the right one!

The Perfect Angle Pro Shop in Washington, IL is hands down the best pro shop I've ever dealt with. They take the time to learn your game, listen to your needs, and measure you correctly. Both of the owners have bowled on the college level, one was on Team USA, and the other bowled overseas. Lots and lots of experience! You will not be disappointed!

I appreciate the feed back. I’ve been bowling for 30 years now. Had a decent amount of success but feel like I’ve always grabbed the ball due to my thumb never being the way I want it and I just want to know what that feels like once in my life lol

I forget about them too, another vote for Dani and Kayla as well, pretty fortunate with the amount of options around

Brian at Bowler's World in King Pin lanes. I've known him for 25 years and he'll never oversell you.

Rick Coy from solid 9 in Taylorville is a used car salesman. He has an outside job and couldn't really care less. Tells you what you want to hear, rushes through stuff he drills. Makes you feel like he's giving you a great deal on Storm stuff when in reality, he gets it free because he's on staff.

Tom and the guys in Decatur have a good reputation as well.

I did go to Brian at king pin as it was 10 minutes from where I’m currently staying and I’m very happy with the fit. Where is the best place to look for upcoming tournaments for the area?
