I'm not familiar with the hada patch tape, but I can tell you that in Turbo it goes like this:

Beige = Smooth, quick release
Purple = Slower release
Mint = Coarse, Slow release

Vise Hada thumb tapes

Blue - thinnest & fastest
Red - thicker, next fastest (slower than Blue)
Aqua- 3rd fastest, slower than the Red
Gray - slowest, slower than the Aqua

I second the black Turbo "skin patch". Thin and slick. Advantage to the black skin patch is it comes in 2" wide roll and you can cut to fit the width of your thumb. The 1" rolls never seemed to cover the entire area I needed.
