Returning bowler - ball question
« on: February 10, 2019, 10:54:30 AM »
Haven't bowled in 15 years. Not that great a bowler - used to throw Columbia 300 Scout and Action. Not a power bowler or high rev. What's the latest and greatest for someone like me?

nothing has changed that much except names and colors.  Any midlevel ball from any of the companies will work.  Hammer Vibes are good examples.

Avabob pretty much summed it up. I would grab something a bit proven to get back in and build from there.

Hammer Vibes, Black Widow series, Web, Web Tour Edition, Rhodman Pearl
Ebonite Gamebreaker 2 Gamebreaker 3, Gamebreaker 3 Pearl
Storm Hyroad, Hyroad Pearl, IQ Tour Solid, Phaze 2
Roto Grip Hustle INK, Idol, Idol Pearl
Motiv Venom Shock
900 Global Black Ops, Honey Badger

There are many more good options and also depends on what performance level ball you require for your style and conditions you bowl on. I tried not to list anything too extreme in either direction. There's a ton of good equipment out right now.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

The Action is a very low RG (fast revving) strong ball. I like the Eon Infinite there, and to replace the Scout, a Boost.

Action might be very low RG but it will be far from a strong ball by today's standard.  Very weak cover. I have the Action Max (stronger) and is less ball than an iQ tour by a quite a bit.

+1.  Alonzo names many good ones also.  Stay away from the hook in the box hype and hard to go wrong.  More expensive is usually not better on house shot.
Here today.  Gone tomorrow.
