Changing lines
« on: January 22, 2008, 07:29:24 AM »
Problem statement - current bowling line is "touchy". It seems to be right at the wet/dry transition.  What I mean by this is that if I send my ball out 1 - 1 1/2 boards early at the arrows, my ball hits dry too soon and goes thru the nose.  If I tug it 1 - 1 1/2 boards at the arrows it skids too much and doesn't catch enough of the head pin.  I don't have enough rev's to get my ball to go brooklyn when i send it out early. When in wet, I don't have enough rev's to catch enough of the head pin to carry. So....

Possible solution - Purchase a lighter ball (15lb) with more hook potential.  Move deeper and cover more boards.  Which means I will have more "area" to play with. So if I send it out early (1 - 1 1/2 boards), I will be in enough oil to skid before hitting real dry boards and make it back to the pocket.  If I tug it, I will have enough rev's on it to hold the line and catch enough head pin to strike.

I figure these spray and pray bowlers have about 5 boards swing and 5 board tug area and they are tearing up the wall house shots.  So if I have 2 boards swing and 2 boards tug, I should start killing house shots.  What do you guys think?

Looks good on paper doesn't it?
