1992 Black Infinity Urethane....looking for info.
« on: April 04, 2019, 01:12:47 PM »
The manager at my local Pro Shop had this laying around in the back room, knows I like old 16lb urethane and gave it to me. He bought it new in 1992.

I've searched for info on it (specs, core etc) and came up empty handed.

Any info would be appreciated.  :)

Yeah it looks like that company disappeared before the internet took off.  The cores were very limited in this time period (Phantom and Sumo had just invented dynamic cores around this time).  More than likely its either pancake (most likely) or it was another Faball Black Hammer clone (plenty back then).  Either way you are looking at less than a .02 diff or so, so ball probably won't flare much.  Pretty ball in great shape though.  Does it have a slight kerosene smell?  Lot of old black urethane back then did.

Yes it does, identical to my Fab Black Hammer...lol

Threw it a bit last night with my Black Axe. Got it to move some, I know I could get it to move a little more if I took the surface down to 500 or 1000. Probably just end up using it as a spare ball though.

A blue and black one with a grenade core hmm.  Swear I have seen that somewhere.  Imitation and flattery and all that.  Looks like you basically got a 2nd Black Hammer.

Omg!  I had a few of the black ones.  I remember I first got wind of these by watching Les Zikes using them in regionals.

I had several of them back in the day. The company was formed by the 2 Mike Truits that bowled the midwest regional tour. It was poured by Faball. And the pl;ate in the middle was of a denser material which " made the ball rev up faster"  Mine flared quite a bit for that era (3-4 inches"
