Finger pitch
« on: March 29, 2009, 06:55:02 AM »
Whar should you start with finger pitches ? My hands are flexable. I have a long span 5 1/16 x 5 3/16, My thumb pitchs are 7/16 rev 1/8 left.

I know my fingers are pitched 3/8 away both fingers to keep the bridge the same distance. Im wondering about fwd, and reverse.

I have a orange maxim spare ball and i know the fingers are 1/4 fwd, i feel more relaxed in it the span feels a touch shorter. My other equiptment is i think 0 on middle and 1/8 fwd on ring..

What is ever one elses ??? Do these sound rite

For fingers with flexible joints and a relaxed fingertip grip I use 0 unless the customer asks for something else.  --  JohnP

It should be based on your flexibility.

A lot depends on the flexibility of each fingertip and if each finger is straight.  Most people's fingers do not bend at a 90 degree angle.  Typically someone with really good fingers would have 1/8 to 1/4 reverse in the fingers and if the fingers are straight 1/4 left in the middle finger and 5/8 right in the ring finger.  Your thumb pitches with that long of span will have a good amount of reverse.  If you are flexible I would question the left lateral of 1/8.  Left lateral is used if you are not flexible.  Normally people with good flexibility are zero.  There is almost never a reason to go right lateral.  All this is a starting point and a good pro shop should be able to take care of you.

The reason behind the 1/8 left is to get the ball off my thumb quicker. I was at 0.
