Ok, I've decided to put a lot of money I really don't have into catching things up.  Everything I need to catch up on, (bills, clothes, etc.) and bowling's in there too.  Working in a pro shop is kinda like a candy shop, and I've never had a set arsenal, I've always just added balls I thought I needed.  What I want to do is lock down an arsenal so I can cut back on random spending.  I have just about everything I need for medium-medium oily.  What I need is a heavier oil ball and a lighter oil ball.  I'm pretty much set on getting an XXXL, because revs and lowering speed is no problem for me, and I definitely see conditions that would give this ball a lot of use.  There's one league I could play 3rd arrow with it pretty much every night.  I have a teammate that throws his Storm football with about 300-350 revs at 16 or 17 mph and just kills with it.  I don't see a whole lot of oil, but I want one for just in case.  I have NOTHING that hooks more than my Time Zone, and I see oil that's too much for it every once and a while, but not that much.

So basically, here's my set up.

X-Zone TE1 Yellow Pin - Drilled 4x1, the pin is just right of the middle of my palm.  1 1/4th inch weight hole (diameter, used to be a thumb hole).  Not sure of how much negative side weight, but it rolls pretty much like a pearl urethane.  Really even, really controllable.  HIGHLY polished.

Purple Fuze - Drilled 5x2, the pin is right under the bridge.  Same description as my X-Zone pretty much, the only exception being that it's got a nice hard arc, and a harder backend.

Time Zone - Drilled 5x4, pin above bridge.  Small weight hole, 1/4th ounce positive side weight.  Was polished, but use has dulled it a bit.  Not planning on altering the surface unless I absolutely have to.  Nice skid with a very hard arc.  Hooks too much for what I normally see, but still works very well if I can be consistent with lowering the revs.

Pearl Viper - Drilled 2x4.  No weight hole.  Polished.  Very controllable hard arc throughout the entire lane, easily the ball I'm most comfortable throwing, I'm plugging and redrilling it to shorten the span right now.  It will probably be my main league ball.

Scream/R - Drilled 5x4, pin above bridge.  Small weight hole, lol, probably needs to be plugged from my previous layout on the ball, which was 4x5, the hole was above my PAP, so it's really up there now.  Highly polished.  Haven't used it too much, too much skid.  Really nice reaction, but it's a skid/flip in the true sense of what that means.

Savage Flip - Drilled 5x4, pin above bridge.  Small weight hole, just below PAP, just added, as well as highly polished.  It's 14 pounds, whereas everything else is 15.  Same kind of reaction as my Time Zone, but turns over harder on the backend, and is nowhere near as controllable.  It's a little too over/under, but on the conditions I usually see, dry boards that are needed for it to hook are NOT a problem to find.

So far I'm also adding a 14 pound Inferno that I plan on fine tuning and making a niche ball.  I'm also adding a 15 pound Power Groove.  It should hook just a little less than my Time Zone and be a little earlier and more even.  I plan on having it and my Viper be my main league balls.  My Purple Fuze plays the oil line inside and carries INCREDIBLY when the track burns up.  I've played it at one house very successfully that's a second shift league after 5 man teams.  I doubt I'll be using my Scream, Savage or X-Zone much.  What's really left is either a big hooking solid or proactive ball.  Right now, for the balls I'm interested in, I have a Swamp Monster, a V2 Strong, and a Fuze Detonator sitting in front of me.  I'm more interested in the V2 and Fuze than the Swamp.  Polished solids seem to work the best at my synthetic house, but here's the deal.  I just talked to one of the head guys at the synthetic house, and FINALLY found out the exact oil pattern.  Close to a top hat, oiled to 23 feet, buffed to 37.  Now I know why I've been having so much trouble with getting length out of anything, it starts hooking when it hits the lane.  ANYWAY, really sorry for the length of the post, but if anybody bothered with reading it all, I'd really appreciate opinions.  Thanks!

The only difference between youth and adult leagues are that the big boys are allowed to whine.  They're more entertaining anyway.
