Seismic Raging Bull stampede vs other Heavy Oil Balls
« on: January 19, 2015, 10:28:20 PM »
How the Stampede compares with the other heavy balls in the market right now? (Guru, Jackal, Crux, etc) one friend has an extra one undrilled and he is selling me that ball, and since I'm looking for a heavy oil ball for the Nationals, I was wondering how the stampede does against the ones that are in the market now.

Thanks!

I don't know if I would consider it a heavy oil ball unless you drill it strong and use a lot of surface. I'd probably put it in the category that can handle a little more than your regular medium patterns like the Black widow series

I had one and liked it. It will handle oil well but it's weaker than the newer stuff but not much. It will be plenty of ball for any nationals pattern. It was a bit stronger than my disturbed but a bit weaker than my hyper cell when I had them all at same time. I couldn't throw it in Reno two years ago it was too much for me.

Being a bowler with regular to low revs, I thought that the stronger the ball, it would help me more in the backend, right?

That's why I'm asking, I want a ball strong enough to be used on heavy oil and still making its way back to the pocket with tons of energy.

It is a stronger ball not the strongest. Stronger than the Widow Series mentioned above IMO. It was plenty of ball at Nationals, and PBA Shark and Scorpion.

Not necessarily. Lower revs and low speed will make the ball read early. Low revs and higher speed may help. That ball will be more than enough on any national patterm. It is a very good ball imho

So do you guys think that if I get the Raging Bull Stampede will be more than enough for the Nationals and other Heavy Oil patterns? (Also the RBS is about half the price compared with the other balls mentioned) if you were in my position, which ball would you buy?

By the way my speed is average speed, I will say 14, 15 mph...

Thanks in advance!

Not knowing anything about you or how you bowl its hard. I always want new equipment. But can tell you that ball was a good one

Left handed bowler, my A game is usually standing on 16 - 18, targeting between 6 and 8 board, stroker, avg to low revs, average speed...

So the Stampede will be enough to handle the probable patterns at Nationals? Or should I go for the newest technology? Money is not an issue fortunately.

Have you been to nationals?  It's not heavy oil, it's a flat pattern. I've had the most success with mid range solids to start and weaker solids to finish. My trusty old Nomad Solid(2009) had been my most successful ball year on year out. But that's me.

No, never been there. This time is gonna be my first time, so I really want to have the right equipment for the Nationals, that's why I was looking for he right ball.

Right now i have:

Aura Paranormal (medium to heavy)
Sigma Sting and Wicked Siege (medium)
Tribal Fire (medium to light)
Arctic Sniper (spare ball)

So I was looking for something for heavy oil and maybe, maybe another medium to heavy hall, like a Vengeance, a Primal Rage or maybe one Black Widow... What do you think?

To be honest. I think "smoother/controllable balls are the key. I'm being Covert Revolt, nomad, venom shock and seismic blackout. Maybe vengeance depending on pattern

But that's me

So do you think there is no need for something like a Guru or a Jackal? Not even the Raging Bull Stampede?

Would you see something like a Covert Revolt and a Sigma Sting to be a 1-2 combo for the Nationals? Both are smooth/controllable balls...

The Covert is as strong ball. It's on par or slightly more than the stampede. I just love the motion. It's smooth and powerful. Great ball. The patterns have not been released yet but I will bring it in case. Im guessing it will be a venom shock tournament for me. But again for me. I think the Covert and sigma sting are a good 1-2 punch for most heavy to med volume patterns. But again that my opinion. Surface is adjustable on all

I read on other post that you just got the new Vengeance. Between the Revolt and the Vengeance, which one did you like more? The Venom Shock is supposed to be used on medium to light oil conditions isn't it? Do you think the Nationals are not gonna be with heavy/medium oil conditions?
