Title: Shoe question
Post by: Jeffrevs on December 16, 2005, 12:24:31 AM
I have Linds Classic Black shoes....and I've loved them for years.....but for some reason their becoming a tad uncomfortable.

Thinking of maybe trying something else.....

IDEAS ? Brands, Styles, ....and why!?

p.s. I don't bowl enough to have 6 different heels and soles!

Thanks

I have the ABS Tour Ultras as my primary shoes and a pair of SST6s as my backup.  The TUs are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn!!  It's like wearing a pair of slippers -- light, flexible, soft.  As far as wear goes, I got them last Christmas and have used them once a week (at least) since then and they show next to no wear.  By now, I'd have worn away the toe of the trailing foot on the Dexters.  I can't speak for the other ABS shoe lines, but, if Santa's bringing them, you can't beat the Tour Ultra!!

I have tried the following:

Linds xxtras - (rated #5) good shoe but had trouble with sliding consistanly changed to Dex sst6's

sst6's - (rated #8)wider than normal shoes, good fit and comfort, better than average slide soles and heel assortment

Dynoroozs (ABS) - (rated off the top of the chart)best looking shoe sold,  kangaroo skin leather, softer than any shoe I've worn, no break in period, extra soles and heels, kevlar toe guard, shoe horn, shoe trees, shoe cover, carrying case all included in purchaase price. Like walking in a pair of thick socks, lighter than SST's easier on tghe feet.

ABS Sport Ultras 1500's the same basic shoe as the high doller Roozs, kangaroo skin leather, less accessories included ( heels and soles) smart looking shoes, at great price. Like walking in socks, softer than the SSt series on the feet and lighter, weighing less than the SST's

So, the Sport Ultras are the way to go ?!?  I'm fine w/ my Linds as is, so I'm not too concerned about changing soles, heels, etc....

I think I want to steer away from Dexter...too many durability issues I've read on here......

more thoughts please!

My SST 5 LXs are less than a year old, and the heel is coming loose on my plant foot.  Kind of irritating when they were around 150 bucks.  (A Gift, I would never PAY that much.  )

I have the SST LX6's and bowl league 2 nights a week
and a mixed league every other week and have not had
a bit of trouble with them. Almost 2 full seasons of use
and still are like new and very comfortable also. Durability
has been great with mine and quite a few others I know
that has the SST LX6's. You can't always place the blame on
the shoes for durability issues. Hope this helps Jeff.

I had to put a pair of Dr. Scholl's sport inserts in my Lind's Classics.  It made them more comfortable and gave me support I needed.  Still not the most comfortable shoes in the world but I was wearing mine sometimes up to 6 or 8 hours at a time.  Most of the time it was only 4 hours a day and a lot of it not bowling.

Jeff--I've used ABS now Dynarooz Sport Ultra's for going on two years and can't see anything wrong with them.  I used the felt sole for most synthetics as I like to slide and either chrome leather or derrskin leather for wood approaches.

I used to use Lind's Classics but when they went to Mexico no way Jose.  Dexter's I've seen to many guys with quality issue's never have seen any quality issue's with ABS/Dynorooz.

i have a set of ABS Sport Ultras and they are comfy as heck. I bowl twice a week in them for almost 2 years and they still feel as good as the first day. and they arent going to break teh bank.
