Looking for a smooth medium oil ball that would fit between the Game Breaker and the 900 Global red and yellow Hook. I figure a 505C would work based on the numbers but I don't know that ball at all. I used to have a Creature S40 that I adjusted the cover on to fit pretty much exactly what I need.
Any suggestions?

From the numbers alone, the new green and black Hook look like what you want. It's a sanded solid version of the s43. Cover is slightly stronger than your creature. With the right drilling, it should be what you want.

Wisdom would fit there well. Nice and smooth, will be a little bit stronger than the Hooks

+1 on the Wisdom one of the most underrated balls on the market....Marketing it towards seniors was the wrong idea IMO. This thing is smooth and gives you enough pop. Its possibly the best ball I have ever thrown on Wet/Dry conditions.....

Is there a difference between the black and gold and the red and silver?
It might be an option but I was just looking at some videos of the wisdom and the creature and the creature is looking a lot smoother. The creature is a lower RG and lower differential though.

I've never seen either, but if the BTM AND BJI reviews have any relevance, the original did not have the desired and advertised ball reaction for slower speed seniors: gentle arc. It was much more towards the skid/flip side of the equation. The new one, the Red/Silver, had changes to the cover and the core and its backend is much more mild and is what the advertisement for this ball says: Slow speeds will get a smooth arc.
It might be an option but I was just looking at some videos of the wisdom and the creature and the creature is looking a lot smoother. The creature is a lower RG and lower differential though.
Depends on which Wisdom was in the videos.
I think the original poster's Red/Yellow solid polished hook is going to be stronger than the Wisdom. They (the Hooks) are not entry level ball; they're far too strong, unless you're highly speed dominant. I think he was looking for something stronger than the Hook. I think the new sanded solid h Hook could be one candidate. Unless he wants to stick to 900Global, the Arson Hybrid, King Coba, and the Motiv Thrash are 3 other candidates.

Thanks Charlest.. I haven't thrown the red/yellow hook yet.. so maybe that will be my smooth medium oil ball I'm looking for. I guess I will set that up and throw it and see how it works. Do you know how the red/yellow hook compares to the creature??

The Hooks are going to be longer, and stronger off the spot. I had a Creature, and the Hook should come around the corner harder.

BOO... thanks for the info.. maybe I'll try to put the pin at center grip and drill the thumb and fingers extra deep to lower the RG and lower the differential.

I'll second that. The Creature was smooth and even, almost no matter what surface and what drilling I put on it. The Hooks have a stronger cover and a tall, thin, higher differential core for length and flip (depending, of course on your rev rate/ball speed ratio!!). These are medium oil balls; use them on less than medium and they'll get flippier unless you smooth the cover or are speed dominant. Be careful about high pin drillings.

The Sure Thing, Cobra SE, and the new Hook are nice choices in the 900 Global/AMF line.

The Lane #1 Ripsaw would fit. Another choice is the Seismic Blackout.

The original Wisdom I have with it's S65 coverstock and pin up is one of the snappiest quickest off the spot balls I have. It is great on front to back wet dry but terrible for side to side wet dry! Sap!
I have balls so much better for wet/dry They are all solid symmetrics with lower diff cores and pins down.

PS my Sonic X is one of them. When my side to side wet dry has carried down and I need some length and big reaction, out comes my Wisdom, usually very late at my bowling center just before they close!
