What does it mean to have too much finger weight?  What reaction does that produce?

need to drill deeper..

produce a reaction? top bottom mean nadda for reaction....

Finger and thumb weights doesn't determine how the drilling will affect the roll..

but what do I know... I'm not a PSO just a POS...

Thumb, finger, top, and side weights are static measurements of the amount of imbalance in your ball due to the weight block and its position relative to your grip.  These imbalances have minimal impact on modern balls due to the high density, center heavy cores.  However there are still legal maximums for these imbalances.  If you have more than 1 oz of finger weight after drilling the ball is not in conformity.  As stated in the last post this can generally be fixed by drilling deeper finger holes.

What reaction does that produce?

The old school idea was that in general, A finger weighted ball would skid farther and roll later than a thumb weighted ball. So the more finger weight the longer the skid.

And a thumb weighted ball comes out of its skid earlier and rolls sooner than a finger weighted ball. So the more thumb weight the earlier it rolled.

But this is not the thinking anymore, because that has to do with the static weights. Which static weights are not considered relevent anymore, because studies have shown they have very little if any impact on ball motion.
