Switching Hands
« on: October 24, 2016, 08:24:33 AM »
Wondering if anyone has ever switched hands due to an injury.  If you did how much lower did you average and how long did it take to feel comfortable throwing with the other hand?  I realize everyone is different.

I realize everyone is different.

It all depends on your coordination with your other side and your ability.

I know a couple people who could probably be about 20 pins less because they're fairly coordinated, but I've also seen other people struggle and be 50+ pins lower

Yeah, it's really an individual thing. Some people are quite good bowling with the opposite hand. In fact, I know that there are individuals who have carded 300s and 800s with both hands, which is a pretty awesome accomplishment. Like anything, it will come down to training to build muscle memory. If you're fairly coordinated, in time, you'll probably be okay, but how long it takes to get there really comes down to the individual.
