Anyone Else Excited/Interested in Quantum's Re-Released Balls?
« on: October 20, 2016, 08:10:59 AM »
I'm kind of interested in the red Quantum Fire Pearl.  It's coming out November 1st along with the Forest Green Solid (last thing I need is another ball for heavy oil).  I know some will say it cost too much but I think you can buy it and have it drilled for around $225.

I'm interested to see if it can still react like it did in the 1990s.  I have the two most famous Quantum balls but don't use them because they are worth so much.  I might just do something crazy if one got stuck in the pin area like my Storm El Nino XiT did back in the day.  Had that ball retrieved only to find it got chewed in half.

no Jesper proves its the bowler not the price of the ball. his balls are only $119
Will expand arsenal after I polish my spares.

So far the Red Pearl is the best match for me.  Just in the last 7 days games of 280, 299, and 279.  It just carries so well playing up the outside for me.  I will eventually have to tune in the surface on the Forest Green Solid so I can use them both, but so far I can't put the Red Fire down.

I like the looks, vintage aspect, and videos for both.  However $175 is overpriced in my opinion..  maybe a better deal with 3 ball tote, but I don't really need one right now.  Guess I will have to be patient for another month until they are being offered at "close out" pricing.  I would consider buying at $115 to $125 shipped range.

The good news is, if you buy both balls for 350, you'll have 2 brand new 3 ball bags to carry them in ;D

Quantums don't go on sale. They just go up in value haha. My helix's could probably be used to buy a car lol.

I'm curious to see how they roll. I have a demo day with all the manufactures Nov 12th in my area so I will get to see how they stack up against everything else..

I am interested in seeing how the 14# rolls when compared to the 15 and 16. To keep the diff the same (dynamic integrity), the core had to be shaved dramatically down which raised the RG. The low RG on the 14# is higher than the high RG on the 15#, and the 15# had a lower RG than the 16#.......very interesting. Not saying its bad, just want to see what it looks like on the lanes.

My Red Fire Pearl rolls a lot like my other pearls.  The difference has been the carry.

Every time I think I'm going to leave the "flat 10" it carries.  When I think it's going to leave a 7 pin, it carries!!

So far on my Monday night league I've shot at one 10 pin each night.  That's hard to imagine, but true.  The ball seems to store energy better than any I can recall.
