Something in between???....HELP??!!??
« on: October 19, 2003, 07:57:18 AM »
Pain has made me deside to drop the weight of my equipment, thats a givin.

Now I am asking you more seasoned bowlers,

Whos equipment, and which ball from that manufacturer would fall in between the Columbia Icon 300, and the Columbia Hyde? The Icon is to agressive, and the Hyde is not agressive enough.

Also, my mind and body tell me to drop to 14#ers.........I currently use 16#ers and I wonder if thats to much of a drop or not?

Any help here would be great.

If you are dropping because of pain, I'd say drop down to 14. There isn't that much difference in carry between 14 and 15, so you might as well go with the one that'd be more comfortable for you. Not to mention, increased accuracy with a lighter ball will always beat out carry with a heavier one.

I'd also say try a Wicked B/R/T, or maybe even the first Icon. Either should fill that gap nicely.

Undoubtedly the best bowler to ever come out of Sequoia Lanes. Maybe that's why they tore it down.

Would anything from Roto-Grip fill this hole?

I am thinking of trying another companies offerings this time around.

I would go with a 14 lb. Cranberry Buzzsaw/C from Lane #1. The cores in Lane #1's 14 lb. balls are the same as in their 16 lbs., so they hit/carry better than other 14 lb. balls. The Cranberry is a solid reactive and should fit nicely between the 2 balls you've mentioned. =:^D
