right handers only
SITUATION
here's the point, imagine u bowling on a semi difficult sport shot, flat, OOB outside 5 boards. ur style should be either stroker, tweener, cranker.
u make a decent shot, hits mark, hits breakpoint (anywhere between 6 to 16 board) and it goes high. assume that there's plenty of room to move in.
POOL
3 options for this pool, to see what would be the option that goes for certain type of bowlers.
put down which type (stroker, tweener, cranker) u are and how would u adjust thats of ur comfort.
types of adjustments:
1. move in a hook it more
2. stay same spot and speed up
3. other, please specify
---------------------------------------------------------------
my answer:
Style: tweener
Adjustment: move in a hook more
--------------------
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment
When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

When standing with the ball, drop my fingers and push my thumb up towards the ceiling.
Drop my thumb, give it a bit more length, especially if you like the spot your playing from.

I'm in the process of trying to find out where I fit in the bowling world. I do not know my tech specs of my game, but it's all a learning process.

I'll go left and / or up on the approach (assuming i'm coming in high), speed adjustment also HAS to be considered.. Vertical moves are just as important as lateral ones.
I consider myself a stroker, but I can hook the ball IF NECESSARY.

(Cranker)Breakpoint at 6.. Means you can play straight up w/ urethane or open up the hand with 3 piece reactive.. Since everyone would tend to move inside and swing it essentially then no one would be outside playing that oil..

I'd make parallel moves and move in(left). How high I'm going would depend on how much I move. For a 4 pin leave I'd make a 2-2 (feet-lane) move left. For a split or cross-over shot anywhere from 3-3 to 7-7 depending on the condition and ball reaction. Only if I felt very comfortable with the ball making it back consistently would I move in and hook it more.
Also, if outside of 5 is OOB I probably wouldn't have my breakpoint outside of 7 unless I was playing straight up the boards. The reason is if I miss out by a board and hit 6 it still has a chance to come back. I find a lot of times on sport shots I may get a little miss room right or left - maybe a board, 2 if I'm lucky. But the miss room is usually in one direction, in or out.
I'm probably on the border between Stroker/Tweener.

cranker, same spot but faster

The only things that are truly permanent are death and Sharpies.
I believe when you lower your expectations, you only increase your chances xD

I'm considered a cranker and in the situation you provided I would move in a little... the key for me was you mentioned there was plenty of room to move, so until there is no room I would continue to move.
-
tweener and I would consider moving further out (right) both with target and breakpoint.

I'd make a small move in and keep the same breakpoint, move size depends on how early the ball picked up and how high it went.
-
Move 2-1 in or ball down if I am confortable with the line and have a similar reacting ball that is a little longer.
