Oval holes, more overall hook???
« on: October 28, 2003, 01:39:49 PM »
Ok,

So i was having problems with my new stuff, some of you may have read. No hook out of my superfreak, little out of my phenom, decent amount from my triple threat, apex obsession was about average. So i bowled a tournament and my thumb was like RED at the end of it, looked like one big blood blister, so my coach told me to go back to using oval thumb holes. So i did, and i bowled with them the other day, and WHOLY MOLY, my balls went NUTS. It wasnt like thy were dry or what ever, just a regular shot i had been practising on for months. No joke a 10-15 board different in my superfreak, i was covering the whole lane with my phenom and obsession, and my triple threat was still reacting great. whats the deal?? Were the round thumb holes just impeeding my release???

good luck and high scoring

I guess the evidence of your eyes was not enough?

Press your thumb on a piece of flat plastic or glass and look at it from the end. If your thumb's shape is round, you're in the vast minority.

If the shape of your thumb is oval, as are most people's, what would make you use a round hole, where it will rub where it shouldn't and it won't conform to your thumb's natural contours where it should???????
