Which "aspects" of ball construction do not matter?
Which aspects of drilling do not matter?
My 2 cents: The coverstocks AND the cores are different!
They're designed for different amounts of oil. Both are skid/flip pearls. The Crossfire is for a degree/level lighter oil than the BWP. So, if you're getting that reaction difference on the same lane surface and the same oil pattern, AND they are drilled similarly, then I'd guess that the BWP is doing a controlled burn of its energy in the midlane and, as a result, the ball has less energy left for its traditional backend flip.
Keep in mind that house blended oil patterns, the infamous THS, can disguise the difference between many balls. Before you decide, before you fix in your mind the differences between your balls, you should use them, compare their reactions on several different lane surfaces AND at least a few different oil patterns AND amounts.
