Title: stuff u hear that makes u laugh

Saw a lefty bowling, he was hitting the pocket almost every shot and he wasnt very good. I asked him how he liked the left side, he said it was good except it was dry. he was playing the first arrow at 15 mph!!! Where do pple come up with this sh_t?????

I laugh at people who complain about conditions, the stuff they come up with is unbelieveable.

"The line dried up on me, I put the ball here it skids, I put the ball here it jumps" (while throwing harder to get the ball out more after moving instead of moving)

Another guy who jerks his head to the side on release and very seldom puts the ball in the same spot also complains about conditions...LOL

I could careless what people do but I don't want to hear people complain about conditions the whole night while I'm making adjustments and making it happen. Ask Chris Barnes, that's his pet peeve, condition complainers. The people who scuff their shoes into the lane after missing a shot and not sticking are good too.

The straight bowler, who believes he was robbed of a strike... never has bothered to wonder why people bother to hook ball into pocket... Then complains about lane conditions.. always have a quiet giggle to myself..

There are so many. they cant understand why they get splits. I have a teamate who bowls dead straight, never carries very well, will not try and hook, all I recommend to them is to stand quite right on approach and try to get some angle into pocket.. What do u do?? They wont change after 10-20 yrs of bowling 160...

the old guy that's been using the same ball for 20 years then wants to try a new ball I brought in until he looks at it and says "oh nevermind that a columbia that won't hook at all"  lmao then I stand in front of the return throw it to the 2 board and pick up the 7pin

over the weekend i bowled a 6 game tournament on what was essentially a 42' nationals shot. after the tournament a lefty from another team's status on facebook was "can someone teach me how to bowl on the burn. unbelievable" i saw him bowling during game 5 and 6 he was still going up 5 with a full swing just like he was doing all day. i was just thinking to myself, learn how to play something other than up 5 and you might score on the burn.

those who complain about carry when they shoot 7 or those who get maybe 3 in a row with lucky shots then cry when they leave a 10 pin on their next shot.

Or folks who complain about the amount of oil (or lack thereof every league night and continue to average 140. God help you if you dare to suggest that they move or otherwise adjust something.

People slamming people for complaining about lane conditions bothers me especially when you could help explain to them about the lane conditions.  I'm a relatively inexperienced bowler (almost 3 years throwing a hook) and I do realize when I try to go up the 5-10 board and come across the head pin that I have to move inside or throw a weaker ball.  But not having the experience to totally understand what to do or how to find the line is going to frustrate you and make you complain.  Instead of fussing about them, help the inexperienced bowler.  Give them some knowledge instead of just complaining.  And dont just be like, it's you not the lane/ball.  The beginning of this season, I didnt understand that till some one helped me.  Now I've been having more success with an inside line.

people who are only moderately talented complaining that all the other bowlers around them have no talent. i realize how i rank next to the other bowlers in my area and respect the talent of those who are more talented. i always want to scream at them that if you were so !@#$ talented why don't you go pro....

Exactly what I was getting at here.  Glad someone else was on the same page as me.  Cuz others on here just turned it into,  I hate straight bowlers, I hate bowlers carrying a 140 avg complaining....etc. Straight bowlers and people bowling a 140 will always be part of the game.  Deal with it all you high and mighty bowlers.  Or like he said...go pro if you're so good.

Hey cappy,I don't think posters here hate straight bowlers, we hate everybody equally..wink!!

Seroiusly, u have legitimate complaints, then there is the downright stupid as* complaint... An example will always be the lower ave straight bowl complaining about the oil.. Its ridiculous really.. But also applies to lower ave hook bowler, who doesn't want to move more than a board to adjust..

I just get sick of hearing people say anything about lefties.  Most of the time it's people who throw the ball like trash too.  I'm the first to admit, being a lefty has it's advantages in some formats, but we still have to throw the ball.

That being said, I've seen some lefties that throw the ball all over the place and score, and I've seen righties do the same thing, but complain about the lefties.  

There is a certain bowler in our area, who is decent, but not great.  Anytime he's in an event that I'm in, he watches me.  I'll be smoking my mark all day, but the first time I miss by any amount of boards at all and carry, he's right there to tell me I missed.  I just tell him, "I just aim for the left side of the head pin."

That makes me laugh.

i just heard this one at the pro shop this afternoon.



during the local city tournament friday night and guy had the ball stick on his thumb and go straight up-out.  He then in turn ran out onto the lane and tried to catch the ball.   slipped and fell onto arse and the ball landed on the side left side of lane and bounced onto the lane left of him.  He stood up picked up the ball and promptly walked back from the arrows in the middle of the lane and down the approch.

with that my thoughts are he was bowling bad and wanted everyone else to suffer too.  the person telling us about it wasn't sure if booze was involved.

Ever hear the expression "a little bit of knowledge is worse than none at all"   ?  Sometime inexperienced bowlers think they are encountering conditions they have heard about when other more experienced bowlers have complained. Is understandable, but funny.

My wife is a career 70 bowler (that's 7-0...NOT 170), and has heard me complain/comment over the years about lane conditions being too oily, etc...

I won't go into the details of her delivery, but she occasionally will dump a ball into the gutter not more than 3-4 feet down the lane, and then will proclaim with full conviction, that the lanes are too oily !!!!

I laugh when someone misses their target by 10 boards, hits the pocket and doesn't carry, only to say that they were robbed..
