Title: Stupid question
Post by: thedjs on June 20, 2018, 11:21:33 AM
Is it possible that going from bowling shoes with a pronounced heel (Linds) to shoes that are mosly flat (Dexter) affect your approach, slide or balance?

Yes. It's different than what you've been used to

I'm going from Etonics to Dexter SST8.. It isn't easy and is going to take a lot of getting used to.

Going from Dexter SST8 to SST9 is a huge ordeal. Took me a few months to feel comfortable with the switch

I tried going to SST9's after being with SST8's for a long time. I couldn't get used to the 9's so i stuck with the 8's. Gonna get some new Blue 8's before season starts.

I went to the TPU-X for awhile but came back to the SST 8 Pro (black/blue). I like the wider toe box of Dexter shoes better

I went to the etonics because I tried Dexter, 3G, and whatever else there is (before storm, tpux, hammer).  Etonic had the best braking heel for me, which is ironic because it is the only one that had a permanently affixed heel. I could never get something I liked with the others.  Hopefully I can get used to the SST8 this go around.  I do have a pair of the Etonic Tourmasters in the closet, but I don't really like how they fit compared to my other Etonics.  I'm overly picky about my footing and for some reason I feel every little difference in the approach.  Probably why I'm a horrible bowler.  Well, that and my 10 lane peripheral vision.
